Taylor Swift's Prana Chai Sugar Cookies

Taylor Swifts Prana Chai Sugar Cookie

So apparently one of Taylor Swifts favourite recipes is a Chai Sugar Cookie?!
If we weren’t Swifties, we definitely are now after finding out she likes chai!

We’re sure any swifty knows that she famously loves to bake, and given the Taylor-frenzy taking over the world right now, we just discovered her Chai Sugar Cookie recipe.

Amended from Joy the Bakers Sugar Cookierecipe  back in the day (long enough ago that instagram still looked like this!)

T Swift made her own version, adding the chai and nutmeg glaze and shared the recipe to her account. So we’ve taken Joy's recipe and added our own Prana Chai twist to it!

For the Cookies, all you need is:

  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tsp of vanilla extract

  • 2 cups of flour

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 25g of Prana Chai

  • 2 tablespoons of alternative milk

  • Cinnamon or brown sugar (or both!) for topping

For the Glaze:

  • 1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar

  • 25g of Prana Chai

  • 3 tablespoons of alternative milk

How to:

  • Preheat the over to 350 degrees farenheight or 170 celsius & line a cookie sheet.
  •  Heat 25g of Prana Chai in 5 tablespoons of milk and sit aside once hot.
  • We’re using less milk than we normally would with the same amount of chai because we want the milk to be nice and infused!
  • Add the butter to a mixing bowl and beat for about 1 minute.
  • Add the vegetable oil to combine as well as possible.
  • Add the granulated sugar & powdered sugar and continue to beat until combined.
  • Add the eggs, vanilla and 2 tablespoons of your chai infused milk to continue mixing until combined.
  • Stir in the flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Chill the dough in the fridge for 1 hour (or freezer for 15 min) just so it is easier to handle.
  • Once cooled, scoop around 1-2 tbsp of cookie dough for each cookie and place on your sheet.
  • Option to sprinkle your cookies with cinnamon sugar now (Cinnamon or brown sugar or both!)
  • Bake for 8-10 min for smaller cookies or 12-14 min for larger cookies.
  • While they are cooling, whisk the powdered sugar and 3 tablespoons of chai infused milk together until it is thick but spreadable.
  • Spoon the glaze over your cookies and you are good to go!
