Could you imagine if 50% of Australia’s population were affected by famine? In a country where we waste an estimated 4 million tonnes of edible food each year, it is impossible for us to comprehend what it means to be truly hungry. But this is the situation in South Sudan at the moment, after years of war and drought have caused great instability in the food supply of much of the country.

In response to this heartbreaking situation, Yoke Yoga in Torquay are holding a Celebrate Oneness Fight Famine yoga event to raise money for Save the Children. It’s an afternoon of Vinyasa Yoga with teachers Nickie Hanley and Chris Wilson, followed by music, nibbles and drinks. Prana Chai will be there to serve up participants the good stuff. If you can’t make it there in person, you can still donate to this worthy cause. For more information, visit the Yoke Yoga website here.
